The Democratic Face of Necrophilia

Egypt turned a democracy, and the newly elected Islamic-dominated parliament, has already introduced new laws – democratically, of course

According to the new proposal, Egyptian husbands will soon be legally allowed to have sex with their dead wives - for up to six hours after their death. It will also see the minimum age of marriage lowered to 14 and the ridding of women's rights of getting education and employment.

Thank you America for relentlessly sowing the seeds for new democracies.

ranfuch, this is not the democracy that characterized western culture. for a highly religious culture, democracy is not so much different from tyrany.

Yun Yi, I agree. And still America tries to force democracy on all these countries: Egypt, Gaza, Afghanistan, ...

we need to leave the middle eastern and african countries alone. we should not get involved at all and should completely ignore their existence. nothing good has come from those countries for over 6000 years. however, i doubt that an Islamic government would allow necrophilia as it is against the religion. and we have states here that allow marriage at 14 years of age so that's not that odd. Egypt has realized some of the value of women and while they do not have all the rights women in Europe and America have, they do have more rights than women in other Islamic led countries, so it is highly doubtful that their rights in the work force and in school would be eliminated.
