The unfriendliest cities in the USA

Conde Nast Traveler does a yearly survey of the friendliest and unfriendliest cities in the world.  Of the top five unfriendliest cities in the USA two are in New Jersey( Newark -- voted the least friendly in the world last year -- and Atlantic City)  and two in Connecticut (Hartford and New Haven).

As I visit each of these cities at least once a month, I wonder if it is all my doing

I wonder how they judge them.

John, as far as I know, it is a simple survey they run among their readers. Nothing too sophisticated

My bias as a proud lifelong New Englander not withstanding, New York and New Jersey have a well-deserved reputation for their rudeness (trust me, I've been to both MANY TIMES), and Connecticut, while nominally part of New England, is only a part of the region by geography...culturally and by self-identity, they are a mini-New York City wannabe, so again that's not surprising.

I totally understand your self-doubting Ran! But knowing you, whatever little I know, I'd say that you visiting them might have won them the titles of 'unfriendliest cities in THE WORLD'! ....No, no kiddding......just wanted to snap you off a stupor......your sense of humor can only make these places even remotely worth handling! Hows life and hows the writing? I moved out of JC too, so am not actively in the workshop....though I miss it a lot. Ciao, ciao.
