China Terrorist Attack: What Can The US Learn?

In a devastating attack, ten armed men rampaged a train station in Yunnan province, China, and killed 29 people.

"29 dead for ten attackers?" the average American might wonder. "Isn't it inefficient?" Here in America, a single attacker causes more death, much more.

In China, however, the attackers did not have access to guns, and the attacks was carried out with knives and machete. Imagine what the death toll would have been, had they had access to firearms.

Imagine what the death toll would be, if ten armed men carried out a similar attack in a train station in the USA.

I need some freedom
Firearms for my people
I want some freedom
Guns
Guns
Guns for my people
I'd like some freedom
I need some guns for my people
Freedom
Freedom
Firearms for my people

China has long term racial problems between Han Chinese (most population) and other minority ethnic groups. These terrorists are easten turkestans from Xijiang Province, where the tension between Han and native people has always been problem since half century ago. I am surprised to know that these people came to Kun Ming, a city that is very faraway from Xijiang province. What a tragedy!

The parents, widows and orphans are still likely to feel utterly devastated. It will not comfort them much to know that, had the massacre been in a country that legalises gun use, the death toll might have been far higher.

I suppose other nations will learn something, only when they understand the motivation of the murderers. Was it personal? a frustated section of the population with political grievances? a martial arts group gone psychotic?
