A beggar in the subway hassled passengers for
money. Most ignored him, some grumbled about parasites. I
happily donated. After all, I could be sure that the money would not
support wars in Afghanistan or Iraq, nor will it be used to donate a
jacuzzi for a rich banker, who needs it to calm his consciousness
after another day of embezzling taxpayers money.
I could be sure that the beggar would use the money for a good cause: at worst it will support
the alcohol, drug and food industry. How bad can that be in
comparison?
