Marriage and sex

A recent research has shown that, in average, married people enjoy more frequent sex than the unmarried.  I am surprised that the more conservative institutions in our society have not yet abused this research to promote marriage.

The day is near when every box of condoms will be sponsored by the church with a script saying: If you want more sex, get married. As sex will always beat any moral or value campaign hands down, this research might be proven to be the salvation of the marriage institution.

Yes...I agree...married people do enjoy more sex...not necessarily with their spouse.

Fabulous! Not so sure I agree with the previous comment though I do respect it. But I think your comment is spot on (of course, maybe the study should tell if the married people are young, middle aged, older and if they have children (what ages, too) because kids can really impact a marriage!

Again, fabulous post. I cannot wait to read more from you.

I always wonder about the argument saying the reason that christianity prohibits homosextual is because any sexaul behiviors should be limited because sex itself is the SIN, even heterosexual, and that's why we have marriage... so this recent research pretty much proved that marriage isn't a way to go.

Yunyi, so do you believe that as a result the church would start discouraging marriage?

ranfuchs,
eh, i don't know. church always does things out of my understanding...

I don't know if I can believe that. I used to be in the sex industry and the majority of my clients were married men. All of them complained about lack of sex or boredom with their spouses.

@KM, maybe that is the reason they have more sex? It's not stated in the research
